Currently Singing To: this ringing in my ears
I've learned something. No matter what happens, life is what you make it.
I take comfort in that.

So my Stratus was deemed "totaled" about a month ago, from when that guy ran a red light and wreaked everything. I've been driving in a rental car for a few weeks, and i finally got the check from the insurance company. i bought a crappy ass runner, a 91 Corolla, hell yeah..
it was only 2000, and has a new transmission and engine parts, so it will work for like a year until i can get a little more established to make car payments.
Arctic Monkeys played the other night here in LA, and it was about 3 times better then i thought it was going to be. Pre-gamed it, took the metro to Hollywood with like 5 or 6 other people. good times.
i believe in a few weeks, im going to go up to san francisco to see silversun pickups one day, then interpol the next.
lets see, what else. ummmm, i got laid off from that TV show because they ran out of money. I might be getting a full time at the LA film school. they only problem with that, is that its not editing.
Ok well I gotta get new tires.
I forgot the point of this post.
I saw and heard many different languages on my trip. I wouldn't be able to read the arabic, but it was interesting to look at. those figures are familiar to people who can understand it, so they do not look at it the same way i do. They were looking at it in context, i wasn't.
One thing an editor must do, is forget that he/she knows what they are editing, and must try to look at it as if it was their first time (to make sure the story is understandable with no prior knowledge). Its hard. Its difficult to look at things out of context when you're so familiar with them, but ive been practicing.
I can do it! well at least for a little bit, its still hard. but the hardest thing to look at and listen to out of context, for me, is the English language. There are parts through out the day, when i try to look at street signs, billboards, listen to people, whatever, and try to see them as just symbols, and hear just noises coming out of people. trying to detach meaning from letters and words is mind twisting. I've been able to do it though, for short amounts of time.
(And now for something completely different)
So I finally got the picture for my trip, but i haven't even really looked at them yet.
Been working 7 days a week haha.
I'm an associate editor for a TV show called "Whacked Out Sports". Its neat, I'm actually editing, so I'm happy. Thats Mon-Fri 7pm till 3am.
Then I work weekends at the LA Film School from like 9-6.
I should be set to move out in...hmmm...3 1/2 maybe 4 months?
Yay!
Back!
Theres an unfathomable amount of pictures, but i have none.
i should be getting them from the photographer sometime within the next week.
so i think I'm going to be the weekend AV technician at LA Film, i find out today.
leave in less then a week, woot!
Oh man, Silversun Pickups.
